It is the action of observation that determines the fate of the cat. It is the deed of taking notice that executes terminal delivery of that fate.
Deed is the third of the three secrets, and the means to achieving the sincere truth of makoto.
Figure 19.1. The realm of deed and its polarities.
Deed takes on shape through the process of exertion and outcome. It is the realm of contact, of traction, of delivery of finality for reality.
Where thought is the journey and word is the fuel, deed is the vehicle itself that delivers the sacred occupants of the universe with momentum into thundering arrival at the karmic permanence of fate.
The reality that is present, here today, right now - is the only thing that could have ever been. For Fate itself is only known retroactively. This is a very important principle.
All that exists is the result of achieved fate.
Fate is makoto, sincere truth.
Deed is what moves this makoto from idea and intention into reality.
Deed is spun through polarities of action and hesitation.
Action is the living, growing, expanding polarity that accords with the positive, successful realm of deed. Bold action is beloved by the universe, for it accords with its very own nature.
Hesitation is the dying, shrinking, contracting polarity that descends from the negative, failing realm of deed. Success, power, wealth, love, joy, fulfillment and destiny do not smile upon stuttering hesitation of deed. The universe punishes hesitation with equal fervor just as it rewards action.
Our priest here would call out the difference between righteous deeds and the grave mortality of sin.
Those are labels for the same practical lines of achievement in the dark world.
The physicist would say that our slain cat still lives on within an alternate universe.
But in this one, the deed is done.
